Falling in Love
Dear Felix,
Today I overheard you and dada talking. You asked dada why he thinks Gideon loves trains so much to which he replied that you too, at Gideon's age loved trains.
"I've never fallen in love," you says.
So somehow, before the age of 5, you've made the distinction between the love you have for me, or dada, or for trains and falling in love. Somehow you already know and await this other great love.

Robin Hood
We have been told, second hand, that the teachers at Gideon's daycare think of him as a little Robin Hood. Apparently, he has been known to take advantage of a lack of oversight to get a good one in on another child. This comes as no surprise: Gideon has been trying to take advantage of such lapses since he was four months old. The Robin Hood bit, and the surprising bit at that, is that he only pinches the larger and more bullying children.
Nobility of purpose, perhaps, or perhaps it's just that he's used to trying to get a good one in on Felix and doesn't recognize smaller children as potential targets. Or maybe he just really is a hero. I know he's mine.

Can't stand it when a waitress asks "Are you still working on that?" but must admit I found myself asking the same thing of Gideon last night at dinner. I suppose it's the overalls.
